Most features at BellaSara.com, including Bella Sara Adventures, are free of charge, but play may be expanded further through the activation of secret codes, found in Bella Sara products. First introduced to the North American market in 2007 by Hidden City Games, Inc., Bella Sara quickly expanded into an international children’s entertainment property.  Since its introduction, Bella Sara has broadened its family of products from trading cards and virtual world (playable at BellaSara.com) to DVDs, toys, books, video games, arts and crafts, games and puzzles, apparel, back to school and more in the North American and International markets.

For the purpose of our review, I was sent two packs of Bella Sara™ trading cards (Retail $2.99/each).  Before allowing my 11-year old daughter and her friend to “play” on BellaSara.com, I logged on and set up the FREE account.  I was very impressed that BellaSara.com has parental controls for users under 13 years of age.  The parental controls allows parents to limit the child’s usage from one to three hours of play per day, as well as allowing unlimited use. 

Our junior reviewers went straight to work discovering the fun activities at BellaSara.com.  With the codes located in the packages of trading cards, they were able to unlock more activities.  A “Journal” with a “To-Do List” gave them ideas of areas to visit and kept them busy with feeding, watering and grooming their horse.  Other activities included more artistic fun like on-screen drawing and painting.  The final result was a great time of fun!  Our reviewers determined that Bella Sara was more appropriate for girls due to its femininity, and would be most appreciated by horse lovers.  Our  young reviewers were uncertain of the appropriate age recommendation due to the different levels of computer experience of children, but agreed that on average 7- to 10-year olds would most enjoy the features of BellaSara.com.  Bear in mind that ages 5 through 12 may find enjoyment with the different activities, and it is recommended that parental observation and instruction be provided (especially with younger children).  Also note that with one click on “Shop” users are taken to the online store where Bella Sara products are available for purchase with prices ranging from .99¢ to $107.64.  I’m sure children can find plenty to put on their Christmas Wish List here and you will find plenty of great socking stuffers too!
