halloween-haunted-house-1Its that time of year again when we bring out the jack-o-lanterns, ghost stories, costumes and trick-or-treat candy….It’s almost HALLOWEEN!  Its also a fun time to tell on ourselves with our very best housework-horror story.  The Housework Haters Club submitted their best stories a few months ago, but in honor of Halloween and the many new Members and readers that have joined since then, we invite you to entertain us with your very best story of how housework, or your lack of it, caused you a fright.  Feel free to check back to our last Housework-Horror post for examples, but there’s no right or wrong, just tell us about your real-life scary times with housework.

If you want to include pictures or videos, please leave a comment below and then email them to us at the Housework Haters Club, and the best pics and videos will be showcased on our site.

Please remember to follow safe trick-or-treating and decoration practices.  Here are a couple of good sites for Halloween Safety Guidelines:  Halloween-Safety.com and the National Crime Prevention Council

Have a wonderful and safe Halloween.

I think I’ll get this discussion kicked off by telling everyone about the time a few months ago when my washer of 11 years finally met its “final spin.” We had spent big bucks on that Maytag Neptune washer and dryer when our daughter was just a baby. Nothing doing that we have the “best” to wash and dry our little bundle of joy’s precious little clothes. After 11 years of problems and even a recall, my husband finally agreed to purchase a new washer but he decided to buy a more “bargain-priced” washer than we had. For the first time that I can recall in our marriage, he carefully researched online and actually went to the store to choose and buy our new washer all by his lonesome self. He brought it home and removed the old washer from its space and carefully placed our new washer into its new home.

I was very excited when he announced the new washer was hooked up and ready to go. He started throwing dirty clothes into the washer, before I stopped him and stated that we really should run the washer through a cycle without any clothes in the event there might be a problem. So, we set the dials and pulled the knob to “start” the washer. A few minutes later, even from my desk in another room I could hear a terrible racket coming from our laundry room. I immediately thought, “If this washer is that loud, we are returning it!” My husband first thought it was normal, but as the washer continued it became louder and louder and then started to shake all over the floor (actually scooting across the floor). My husband was aggravated and began filming this with his cellphone video-camera saying, “I’m going to show them this video and I want a replacement.”

As I walked down the hallway, I ran into the huge cardboard box in which the washer had been encased. I started to take it out to the garage when I noticed some writing on the box that said something like, “Remove shipping rod before use to avoid damage.” At this point, our new washer had almost completed an entire cycle. I asked my husband, “Did you remove the shipping rod?” His reply, “What?”

You guessed it. He had no clue. He had not removed the shipping rod, which is a long steel rod that is inserted into the washer basket to keep it from moving during shipping. Once removed, the washer worked beautifully and we are just very lucky there was no permanent damage.

So if you ever buy a new washing machine, be sure to remove the shipping rod!

Well i didnt really wanted to, but what can you do — best friends ,its kinda a must ..lol :)
