Hello~my name is Robyn. I like to think of myself as a domestic goddess and that’s what I call myself but in reality, I’m more like undomesticated and praying to the gods that a housekeeper shows up! I try really, really hard and take great pride in my home, however, it’s never all done and clean at the same time. My ideal situation would be to have my home, minivan, garage, yard, home office and purse all clean at the same time with the laundry folded and put away. A girl can dream right? Yes, you can dream, and I can dream!
I do take pride in my home and clean every single day. There just never seems to be enough hours before I turn around and pick up my kids from school. I love to surface clean and organize and decorate. It’s the deep cleaning I despise. The family room wall unit, you know, the one covered in family photos that shows what a happy, normal family we are? Yeah, don’t go too close to it because that overcrowded intrusive piece of furniture hasn’t been dusted since at least last Spring.
As of this month, I’ve been happily married to the love of my life for 16 years. I have two kids. My son is 11 and my daughter just turned 9. They both play rec baseball and my son plays travel. My husband manages/coaches both kids. We are at the field 6 to 7 days a week. My house is always covered in orange baseball clay and I am forever trying to figure out the best way to get the stains out of the uniforms.
I love my kids baseball games, cooking, surfing the web, tweeting, new recipes and self help books. I volunteer on our local baseball board, room mom at school, love fundraisers and brainstorming new ideas. Always working on something or helping my husband with his business.
My real passion is helping the homeless. I volunteer when I can at our local shelter and I have met the most incredible people. Meeting the residents and everybody that works or volunteers there has changed my life in ways that are indescribable. I am inspired and in awe of these families and only hope that I have one tenth of the strength, courage and determination that they do. My dream is to open my own shelter one day.
I hope you drop by and say hi. You can find me tweeting at various times throughout the day. I tweet usually by phone as I’m always on the go or on the porch enjoying my favorite pastime, COFFEE! Lots and lots of coffee.

Congrats Robyn!!! wootwoot! I do try to keep an immaculate house but at times…well….you know…things can pile up but my house certainly isn’t dirty. Hubby says I am too much of a neat freak.
Loved your post! I am a coffee lover myself, so we can raise our mugs together!
Hi Robyn, congrats on being Housework Hater of the Month!
You sound like you’ve got a positive attitude though. I think you’re heading in the right direction (you’ll get there – one day!)
Nice to read about your life. It’s lovely to hear someone so happy with their lot. And your work with the homeless is inspirational. I also feel strongly about that issue. If ever I get down about the state of my home, I try to remember that I’m blessed to have one at all – however messy!
Have a good day and keep fighting the good fight.
Danielle
A woman who puts her family first and worries about the homeless…….has a home. A woman who only concerns her self with dust and neglects others has a house. Just take one day at a time and remember, the day will come when your house will be spotless, dust free, but empty. These are the good years, the years your children will make memories of their childhood. At the sake of being trite: Live, Love, and Laugh around that orange clay.
Thank you everyone for your comments. That is very kind. We housework haters can use all the inspiriation we can get. Off to finish my housework before picking up the kids from school….
Thanks again and it’s nice to meet you!
